Hebrew Letter: Shin

The Hebrew Letter “Shin” represents our “Way of Life”.

It comes from the first letter of the “Shema” prayer, which means to “Hear” – “Shema Yisra’el, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad” is translated as:

HEAR, O ISRAEL: THE L-RD OUR G-D, THE L-RD IS ONE.

Deuteronomy 6:4

Shema (Hear) means to “Hear, understand, and obey”.  This is our daily theme for our “Way of life” that  G-d has called us to walk.

The “Shin” letter is also the first letter of the name that He introduced Himself with our Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Including the Prophet Moses, as it is written:

“And the L-rd appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am the G-d Shaddai, walk before me and be perfect.”

Genesis 17:1.

“And G-d spoke with Moses, and said to him, I am the Everlasting One: I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as G-d Shaddai.”

Exodus 6:2-3.
